This is a great base and primer eyeshadow to use before you apply the shimmer liquid eye shadow.

These matte shadows are great in terms of application (smooth and seamless, and blend well). The price point is excellent. The colors are saturated and they stay on till you take them off. For me, the matte is a little tough as they tend to highlight the crepe/texture in my eyelids. I am 59, so this is definitely a "me" problem, not a product problem--hence the full 5 star rating. Five years ago, I would have loved the mattes! I was surprised to find that I absolutely adore and prefer the Mixed Media Metallics, those ones do not highlight the aging skin on my eyelids. I still can use the matte shades, I just have to be careful not to over apply and to blend them out quickly before they set. I have just about every brand of high end makeup, and Gen See is right up there with them in terms of quality--but Gen See is so much more affordable. Love this brand.
